We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Planning and Reporting Engineer to join our team in Somalia. In this role, you will be responsible for developing project schedules, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring effective communication between stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and update project schedules that are aligned with project requirements and specifications along with comprehensive narratives and reports
- Analyze project schedules to identify potential risks and delays.
- Develop mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
- Coordinate with project team to ensure that projects are executed according to schedule.
- Monitor project progress and identify any deviations from the schedule.
- Communicate project status to stakeholders.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly progress reports and project closeout reports as project requires.
- Manage project changes and ensure that they are implemented in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinate and report to Head Office Planning for reporting, schedule development, changes and implications
- Interact with project team to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules, cost information and identification of variances from original plan.
- Coordinate project budget with project team and support project team for defining budget, tracking actual cost and updating Cost to Complete.
- Interact with and assist project managers to schedule work and coordinate assignments.
- Analyze project schedules and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around.
- Support project managers to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures, and systems.
- Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
- Perform Schedule Delay Analysis Methods and Prepare Extension of Time Claims
- Undertake Project Reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Skills required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on planning, scheduling and project controls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be Proficient in MS Project and Primavera P6 project management software.
- Ability to work as per different scheduling specifications
- Proficient in MS Project, and MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Primavera P6 experience is plus.
