To support the Government's efforts and in line with the principles and targets of the Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), National Development Plan-9 (NDP9) and the Charter of the United Nations, UNDP Somalia is jointly undertaking a number of initiatives toward greater meaningful inclusion for persons with disabilities.
For the rolling out of the two interconnected projects and the implementation processes, UNDP Rule of Law Portfolio is committed to recruit a Disability Inclusion Specialist for 12 months. The Project Manager and Disability Inclusion Specialist will report to the Head of Area office, Hargeisa and also to the ROL and Security Portfolio Manager on a dual reporting matrix. The Project Manager and Disability Inclusion Specialist will support planning processes, desk reviews, capacity building, and the formulation of legal documents. The incumbent will be expected to work with government, UN Agencies working on disability rights, UNSOM, civil society organizations, organisations of persons with disabilities, and other international partners on a regular basis.
The Project Manager and Disability Inclusion Specialist will report to the Head of Area office in Hargeisa and also to the ROL and Security Portfolio Manager on a dual reporting matrix. (Attached is the Organigram).
Provide policy and programmatic support on disability inclusion.
