Summary: The HR Operations Manager will be based in Mogadishu Somalia, periodically making visits to all the business locations in the country (Kismayo / Baledogle / Baidoa). The successful candidate shall lead the Site HR Team and will be reporting to the Human Resources Manager and to the Senior VP - Director of HR and Admin in HQ / Dubai.
Key Responsibilities: The HR Ops Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the organization's goals and objectives
- Manage employee relations and provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related issues.
- Oversee the performance management process and ensure that employees receive regular feedback and coaching to enhance their performance
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics and provide regular reports to the HR Manager and HR Director in HQ on HR operations and trends.
- Oversee the successful execution of HR processes
- Maintaining employee records.
- Responsible for the following management reports (Outstanding Leave balances, Employee Records, Passport Expiry dates, Somalia Visa Expiry dates, Travel Coordination, Ex-Employee Records, Monthly Deduction return, and Manpower Strength return).
- Coordinating with SKA Travel Desk for all flight tickets, Visa Permits, Labor Permits, and Visas which entails following up with Somalia Airport Liaison for the Local Tickets, and meet & greet of employees and clients. Checks Leave Request dates and approvals.
- Provide clerical assistance as and when required.
- Orientation for new employees.
- Helping and coordinating to support personnel on-site
- Local Nationals: maintaining their payroll and attendance. Reconciliation with DSR and submitting to Finance the verified Local National data for Salary Payment.
- Liaise with the IT Department for phone and number issuance.
- Verifying the monthly calls made by employees, and scrutinizing official and personal calls. Preparing deduction list for personal calls and submitting to Finance for collections.
- Handling and documenting all disciplinary issues of employees, and coordination with personnel.
- Working closely with HR HQ in all recruitment and termination processes which involve vetting, interview, and security clearance processes involving the security department.
- Should be always available by email or phone in case there is an urgent request
Qualification / Education Level :
- Bachelor's Degree in HR or a similar field -- Master's Degree is a plus
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Significant leadership experience is mandatory
- Experience working in high-risk, hostile environments, especially in Africa.
