Save the Children
Mogadishu, Somalia
Deadline Apr 3, 2024
Save the Children is the world's leading independent organisation for children. We work in 120 countries. We save children's lives; we fight for their rights; we help them fulfil their potential.
We work together, with our partners, to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. We have over two million supporters worldwide and raised 1.9 billion dollars last year to reach more children than ever before, through programmes in health, nutrition, education, protection and child rights, also in times of humanitarian crises. Following a major transition, our international programmes are now delivered through a merged operation with 15,000 staff, managed through seven regional hubs and reporting to a relatively small, central office. We're changing to become more efficient, more aligned, a better partner, a stronger advocate, a magnet for world-class people and relevant for the 21st century.
Save the Children is seeking a Lead for the Global Partnership for Education Program Support Function in Somalia. Save the Children was awarded the role of Grant Agent for the implementation of the Systems Transformation Grant both the 80% initial allocation and 20% top-up allocation. The GPE Partnership Compact Grant will contribute to transforming the education system, dramatically increasing access to education, and improving the quality of education, while also making service delivery more equitable, inclusive, efficient, and effective, and strengthening the capacity of the Government to deliver on its mandate.
The GPE Support Function Head is a member of the senior leadership team for the GPE program and will oversee the support function of the program such as the operations, procurement, finance, supply chain, and provide administrative oversight of the GPE program. S/he will also oversee compliance aspects of the program and will be the contact person for the project when it comes to financial donor reporting, the program's yearly audits, and other grant contract management. The holder of this position will also be responsible for the fiduciary responsibility of the grant agent in ensuring that funds through the TSA are managed in line with donor requirements as well as the national procurement laws of Somalia.
