About the job
- Maximize profitable growth including:
- Grow the business for DP World Berbera by attracting and retaining profitable clients.
- Prepare 5 year financial and operating plans.
- Prepare and co-ordinate annual operating and capital budgets.
- Authorize capital and operating expenditure within approved limits and seek approval for others. Establish, monitor, and approve policies covering:
- Asset Management
- Purchasing arrangements
- Human Resources Management
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Environment
- Information sharing / internal and external communication
- Government and Industry issues
- Quality Management
- Lean the Implement agreed operating and financial targets and monitor performance for the business unites with respect to revenue, costs, profits, human resources, assets, debtors, working capital, cash flow and loans.
- Lead and identify and implement business performance improvement programs.
- Evaluate and recommend investment opportunities to the Board.
- Assess and manage insurance cover for the company.
- Submit the appropriate operating and financial reports to the Board monthly and at other times as required.
- Chair the Management Committee.
- Manage and follow all Projects in timely and Cost-Effective manner
- Develop relationships with senior key personnel in Somaliland, eg:
- Major Customers.
- Government at all levels.
- Ports Authorities.
- Regulatory bodies.
- Industry associations.
- Port stakeholders
- Manage the company's public profile.
- Develop and implement business plans for DP World Berbera
- Lead and oversee the efficient performance of operations. to give support and guidance when needed
- Monitor operating performance targets to include the following:
- Lead the strategy and implementation plan to apply quality service covering:
- Standard operating procedures.
- ISO accreditation in the longer term.
- Customer service-driven management.
- Lead, evaluate and support the Humana resources activities and make sure that management team to include the following:
- Select and appoint senior staff in consultation with the Board.
- The performance of individual is being fairly evaluated.
- Provide leadership and be accessible to DP World Berbera Management team.
- Make sure that all staff are receiving the required training and development.
- Lead and evaluate overall productivity for all business unites and support them when needed
- Ensure that there is an ongoing transfer of technology and technical know-how management between Expats and all other personnel.
- Lead and manage an effective environmental policy and procedures.
