Job Summary

On behalf of our client, Shaqo Kaab Solutions is seeking an experienced HVAC Manager with an electrical engineering background to oversee our HVAC department and ensure the efficient and effective operation of our projects.

Job Specification Brief

The HVAC Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of our HVAC projects, from initial design to final installation and ongoing maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a deep understanding of HVAC systems, codes, and regulations. They will lead a team of technicians, sales, and marketing, and collaborate with other departments to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while demonstrating excellent customers.

Responsibilities

1. Project Management:

• Manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and scheduling.
• Oversee the design and engineering process, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Coordinate with contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to meet deadlines and deliverables.

2. Team Leadership:

• Lead and supervise a team of HVAC technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to enhance team efficiency and productivity.

• Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, professional growth, and high-quality workmanship.

3. Technical Expertise:

• Utilize electrical engineering expertise to design, analyze, and troubleshoot complex HVAC systems.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and regulations relevant to HVAC systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the team and address any technical challenges that arise during projects.
• Ensure adherence to electrical codes and safety standards throughout all phases of HVAC projects.

4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Implement quality control measures to ensure that installations meet or exceed industry standards.
• Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to continuously improve processes and implement best practices.

5. Client Relations:

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns, answering inquiries, and providing updates on project status.
• Proactively identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell HVAC services and solutions to clients.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and develop new business opportunities through networking and referrals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field. Additional certifications in HVAC systems would be an advantage and asset.
• Proven experience in HVAC project management, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, HVAC systems, controls, and automation.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, ASHRAE).
• Proficiency in relevant software applications and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, energy modelling software).
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and empower a diverse team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a detail-oriented approach.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
• Professional communication level in Somali and English, both written and verbal.

Compensation and Benefit

The salary grade for this position will be based on the experience and academic knowledge of the successful applicant. Any benefits and compensations will be based on the guidelines and regulations under the Republic of Somaliland Labour Act.
