We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and efficient individual to join Abaarso Tech University (ATU) as the Dean of the Law Department. As the Dean, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership and fostering academic excellence within our Law Department. This position requires a minimum of five years of teaching experience and a minimum of Master of Law degree.

Responsibilities:

1. Academic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the Law Department, setting academic goals and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and research are maintained.
2. Curriculum Development: Oversee the design and development of a comprehensive and innovative curriculum, keeping it up to date with the latest legal developments and industry practices.
3. Faculty Management: Recruit, mentor, and evaluate lecturers to create a strong team of dedicated and qualified professionals.
4. Student Success: Promote an inclusive learning environment and support student success through effective academic advising, counseling, and career services.
5. External Engagement: Foster connections with legal professionals, organizations, and the broader legal community to enhance the reputation and visibility of the Law Department.
6. Resource Management: Work collaboratively with the administrative team to develop and manage the departmental resources effectively.

Qualifications:

1. Education: A minimum of a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from an accredited institution is required. A doctoral degree (Ph.D., J.S.D., or equivalent) in Law is highly desirable.
2. Teaching Experience: A minimum of five years of lecturing experience at the university level, with a proven track record of effective teaching and student engagement.
3. Research and Scholarship: A strong research profile with a record of scholarly publications, presentations, or successful grant application is preferred.
4. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership and effectively manage faculty, staff, and resources.
5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
6. Professional Network: An established network within the legal profession and academia is desirable.
7. Commitment to Diversity: A demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the academic community.
